On 1500 metres above sea level, on the slope of the mountain Hallingskarvet, stands "Tvergastein', the cabin of Norwegian philosopher Arne Naess. In his life he has spent nearly 12 years in this hut, where he wrote several books and essays on philosophy and ecology. In this film, Naess tells about the concept of 'deep ecology', which was first introduced by him in 1973. One of the basic tenets of deep ecology is that nature has a value in itself, apart from its possible use value to humans. Next to being a famous mountaineer, Naess has been a longtime activist in the environmental movement. He gives an inspiring account of his participation in blockades to prevent the Alta river in northern Norway (the area of the Sami, an indigenous people) from being dammed.

Via Annaba takes us to the 2023 Annaba Mountain Week in Algeria, an event organized by the French Institute of Annaba and produced by CSPS AĂŻn BeĂŻda and Nephrops Prod. During this event, climbers from Algeria, France, and Spain gathered for numerous outdoor sports workshops along Annaba's magnificent, rugged coastline: rock climbing, setting a via ferrata route, deep water soloing, scuba diving, and more. This film, a true postcard of Annaba, a city nicknamed "the charming one," is also, and above all, a pretext for inspiring encounters and a contribution to the development of mountain sports in Algeria.

Coral reefs are believed by many to have the highest biodiversity of any ecosystem on the planet. A lot of the life found here can seem very alien at first, they occupy less than 1 percent of the ocean floor but yet are home to more than 25 percent of all marine life. Warm water reefs typically come to mind when thinking of the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, these reefs are very well known but they don’t just occur in warm waters. In this one hour special, we are brought into this alien environment and discover for ourselves a strange, hidden world that is simply abundant with life, ranging from the weird to the wonderful.
