A Prison on the Equator

Brought in by an ill wind, a stranger from another world falls to earth into the body of a young man. A glitch in this interchange hampers the alien consciousness to fully integrate in the new found carcass. We follow this being for a day in their muffled wander through earth.
A Stay On Earth

An intimate reading experience of voice messages from my grandmotherâs sleepless moments. A portrait of personal memory as it is reimagined and lingers for an instant. My phone camera documents wandering figures by a lakeside at night. Across from the lake, the sight of the dissolving cityscape appears to be both infinitely close and extremely remote. This film attempts to reconstruct the forgotten and the marginalized parts of individual beings in the scope of time. The film explores whatâs beyond the visual expression and flows out of the flat screen to co-inhabit the space of the audienceâs reality. The viewers would find themselves roaming through the ontological existence of film, confronted with sound, light, darkness, time and rhythms, transitioning between positive space and negative space, and approaching the very ambiguity of memory.

Juan Daniel's memory doesn't belong to him anymore. After an amnesiac accident at the beginning of 2009, he started watching home-videos and having reminiscent dreams in the need of reconstructing his memory and identity. Months later, he found himself with too many celluloid, analog and digital memories, three generations' eyes captured by different formats. This is the neurological experience Juan Daniel suffered.

'Afloat' is an experimental film that paints a portrait of Japanese performance artist: Ayumi Lanoire. The film opens as a telephone call between Ayumi and Person X, which meanders the audience through the various layers that make up her personas leading one to wonder whether she is in fact a myth or reality.

A young man performs 'pranayama' sitting against a bleak wall. We observe him through a frame that seems to be connected to him in some way. As we go on to witness the nature of the frame, will the images presented to us be able to convey his intentions, thoughts, and ultimately, his fate? This experimental feature film is comprised of 7 parts of black and white imagery with no sound at all.
The Turning Turtle

The story of a lonely man who accidentally discovers an old camera and uses it to capture pictures of his life.

Chimney Book takes rubble from the Christchurch earthquake, and turns it into the building blocks of a film exploring life in the quake zone. Christchurch musician Blair Parkes took bricks from his chimney â destroyed in the 22 February 2011 aftershocks â painted a letter or symbol on each, then scanned them into his computer. Sound and word form the spine of the result, which is part diary, part experimental film. Parkes explores his experiences of living in Christchurch since the quake through words like 'dust', 'memory', 'place', and a question: 'is it over?'

The âHaelgungâ films are charmingly impressionistic diary entries, crafted as mini homages to my closest friends, captured with a delightful lack of planning or structure and edited in camera.
