It is an immense opportunity, setting many of the youngsters on a path to a bright future, but it also means they must leave their homes and communities. Over the course of a year, Off Country follows several such students, who, despite hailing from distinct nations and having vastly different circumstances, each share a commitment to doing themselves and their families proud – no matter the difficulties.
Off Country

A satirical presentation of the public school debate, exhibiting three different teaching methods. First, the authoritarian education system of old; Second, a more modern form, combining theory and practice; and finally, the teacher's nightmare, where children are taught only the necessities for modern life: sales techniques, status symbols, and how to (quite literally) elbow your way to the top.
A School for Life!

The documentary's title translates as "to be and to have", the two auxiliary verbs in the French language. It is about a primary school in the commune of Saint-Étienne-sur-Usson, Puy-de-Dôme, France, the population of which is just over 200. The school has one small class of mixed ages (from four to twelve years), with a dedicated teacher, Georges Lopez, who shows patience and respect for the children as we follow their story through a single school year.

So he listens to the world around him, to what his fellow passengers on the bus talk about. How can we rethink our ways of learning and transmitting knowledge? This film answers this question through the creation of a unique bachelor’s program: the Arts and Sciences Bachelor. The origin of this bachelor lies in the uprising against the 2009 reform of the university. During three years, students explore knowledge through the intertwining of different subjects. Indeed, they discover every aspect of color in sociology, chemistry, and literature. By following four students from their first to their third year, the film explains to the spectator how this bachelor program works. Les Lumières offers a reflection on transdisciplinarity.

Scenario 2: An unprepared family hikes into the mountains and is surprised by a sudden change in the weather. Scenario 3: A couple guys make multiple mistakes in the desert and experience the consequences. Scenario 4: A hunter gets lost in the forest during a winter storm.
