After the raging fire, landmarks are rediscovered, artificial frontiers carved into the earth. They are stones founded in history by almost extinct ways of doing, where word is law. As nature renews itself, Helena reestablishes the limits of her property and preserves a legacy in which the material is mixed with the human, returning to the roots of an intangible fortune.

The 6 Guarani villages of Jaraguá, in São Paulo, fight for land rights, for human rights and for the preservation of nature. They suffer from the proximity to the city, which brings lack of resources, pollution of rivers and springs, racism, police violence, fires, lack of infrastructure and sanitation, among others. Unable to live like their ancestors, their millenary culture is lost as it merges with the urban culture.

The devastating forest fires in Los Angeles are described in three acts.

The second IMAX film made, commissioned by the Ontario Government, and produced by MultiScreen Corporation, later to become IMAX corporation. North of Superior is a Northern Ontario travelogue, and was the first short feature to be shown at the newly created Ontario government theme park, Ontario Place, in it's state of the art cinema, Cinesphere, the first permanent IMAX installation.

"Smoke Signals" follows the volunteers at High Point Lookout, one of the last remaining fire lookout towers in California. Alternating between the daily duties of the fire lookouts, and a series of profiles on wildfires that have traced their history, "Smoke Signals" questions the role of the fire lookouts in the face of rapidly advancing technology and climate change.

For more than a decade, wildfires of unprecedented force have been devouring our lives, homes and forests at a steady pace. Each year, 350 million hectares of forest go up in smoke, the equivalent of six times the size of France. In the US, the fire season now lasts up to two months longer than a generation ago, and the surface burnt annually has multiplied by three. This film sets out on a gripping journey of investigation from Europe to the US, Canada, Brazil and Indonesia to follow the work of a global team of dedicated firefighters, scientists and fire experts as they investigate why our forests are going up in flames, and act on an unexpected discovery: if we want to save our forests, homes, health and our climate, we need to radically change our attitude towards fire and the way we fight wildfires.

In July 2022, a forest fire broke out on Monte Gambarogno in Ticino, Switzerland. Wound Edges is my emotional response to this landscape, filmed on 16mm and hand-developed with the forest’s ashes. Each frame carries physical traces of the land’s memory, blending destruction with resilience. The soundscape—field recordings, burned wood, contact microphones on trees, and the presence of fire—echoes the forest’s wounds. A reflection on human impact, impermanence, and the haunting beauty of transformation.

A first look at Strobus / Banksiana: a musical and visual work supported by two important protagonists of the Quebec forest: the white pine and the jack pine. Duu's second album, first double album : each half is distinguished by its sonic palette, its writing style, and the type of conifer that surrounds it. This short documentary offers an intimate glimpse into the creator's journey through the paths that led him to conceive this personal diptych, where he embraces his duality in this visceral desire to celebrate nature every day.

2024 was the worst year on record for the world’s primary tropical forests, and Bolivia lost 1.5 million hectares — more than any country except Brazil. Fires set to clear land for agriculture spiralled out of control, turning swathes of the country into an inferno. Against this backdrop, the film follows investigators from The Gecko Project as they journey through the Chiquitano dry forest in Bolivia’s eastern lowlands — the region most deeply affected by fires and deforestation.

This documentary, an output of an ITTO Fellowship award, conveys compelling efforts to improve fire management in the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu in the Peruvian Andes.

It begins with fire. Forests burn, landscapes disappear, and the Earth seems to breathe through the smoke. These images are not only a warning, but a reflection of what we are slowly losing. Then, silence. The film turns its gaze toward nature as it truly is, quiet, fragile, and beautiful. Trees moving with the wind, sunlight touching the earth, water flowing, life existing in its simplest forms. Through this contrast, the film invites us to remember what is at stake. Climate change is not a distant story. It is about the places we call home, the air we breathe, and the beauty we often take for granted. A poetic journey from destruction back to life, the film is a reminder that the future is still being written, and that protecting nature means protecting a part of ourselves. Because sometimes, to change the world, we simply need to remember what is worth saving.

Firefighter Jesse Graves has to save ornithologist Jennifer and other people caught in a forest fire, which was set up by the lawyer of convicted killer Earl Shaye, who escaped from the prison with several of his inmates posing as firefighters to recover $37,000,000 in stashed loot.
