Directed by renouned animator Ward Kimball, ' Mars and Beyond' is a lighthearted exploration of the history and future of Space Travel as understood back in 1957! Theories from scientists and philosophers are discussed. Focusing on Mars. Ideas from science-fiction authors H.G. Wells and Edgar Rice Burroughs are brought to life with colorful animation. Pulp science fiction comics of the time are parodied. Life on other planets is considered, profiling each of the planets in the solar system from the perspective of what would happen to man on them. A masterpiece of animation and sci-fi that was way ahead of it's time. Ward Kimball was perhaps the most inventive of all Disney animators and probably the only one who admitted to experimenting with psychedelic drugs in the 60's. Also the only animator who Walt Disney ever called a "genius."

Humanity is constantly pushing its limits... In the field of space exploration, Mars is now the number one objective. Reaching the Red Planet presents immense challenges: which rockets will be capable of traveling such a distance? Can the body adapt to weightlessness for such a long time? Will the crew, in complete isolation, withstand such an ordeal, both physically and mentally? Around the world, the scientific community is trying to find solutions to send the first human to Mars. This documentary invites us to discover the behind-the-scenes story of the greatest expedition of all time.

It started with an order to land something on Mars - cheaply. In NASA's new era of "faster, better, cheaper," this mission had to create a radically different way of building a spacecraft. "The Pathfinders" tells the story of a small group of JPL'ers who dismissed warnings that a cut-rate mission to Earth's distant neighbor would cut short their careers. With a Martian parachute that could not be tested in Earth's atmosphere, and the last-minute addition of a remote controlled vehicle that would not look out of place in a toy store, the Pathfinder mission was a doubter's dream. Vet the future prospects of JPL and of a Mars program in its infancy, depended on bouncing successfully onto the rocky Red Planet and releasing a curious six-wheeled wanderer, in hopes of starting a revolution in space exploration.

The artist Tom Sachs and his team of bricoleurs build a handmade space program and send two female astronauts to Mars

Did Mars ever have life on it? To answer this question, Europe and Russia have launched a unique and ambitious 2-stage project: ExoMars 2016-2018. This documentary is a thrilling look behind the scenes of a magnificent human and scientific adventure. We will uncover the most fascinating aspects of this mission and the search for signs of life on Mars.

An epic journey around Mars — built from real satellite and rover data — revealing the red planet as you’ve never seen it before.

Social isolation affects millions of people, even Mars-bound astronauts. A savvy NASA psychologist is tasked with protecting these daring explorers.

The universe, endless expanse. In this galactic double feature you will experience a breath-taking insight into our solar system. Up close, made for IMAX® Theaters and of course in 3D!

The film mixes sci-fi with a critical approach to current proposals to colonize Mars. Presenting three possible Martian worlds, it was produced using the GPT-3 language processing model and is inspired by space ecology, interplanetary law, non-human sign systems and data science

The Mars Underground is a landmark documentary that brings to life, through the use of state-of-the-art 3D animation, the daring first human mission to the red planet and explores the challenges of surviving on Mars.

First published in 1898, H.G. Wells’s The War of the Worlds was a veritable literary and cultural revolution. It laid the foundations for modern sci-fi by telling the first- ever story of an alien invasion. A political and moral fable, the novel uses science fiction as a tool to raise our awareness and alert the modern world to the dangers and risks inherent in industrial, scientific and technological progress. It is high time to rediscover this seminal book.

In this second episode of Symbols of an Alien Sky, David Talbott takes the viewer on an odyssey across the surface of Mars. Exploring feature after feature of the planet, he finds that only electric arcs could produce the observed patterns. The high resolution images reveal massive channels and gouges, great mounds, and crater chains, none finding an explanation in traditional geology, but all matching the scars from electric discharge experiments in the laboratory.

A provides a comprehensive look at NASA's ambitious Viking mission to Mars. It captures the scientific excitement and technical complexity of the first attempt to land a spacecraft on the Red Planet to search for evidence of life.
