A very free adaptation of Marlowe's "Doctor Faustus", Goethe's "Faust" and various other treatments of the old legend of the man who sold his soul to the devil. Seymour Krelborn is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker, Audrey Fulquard, and is berated by Mr. Mushnik daily. It also features puppets from Singapore, Laos, Malaysia, and the Bread and Puppet Theatre from Harlem. The film additionally includes short excerpts from the early Muppets by Bill Baird and Jim Henson.
